Important Information

Students who are seeking assistance in paying for college are encouraged to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year. The information provided in this application will determine your eligibility for federal grants and other sources of federal assistance (loans and work-study). Adelphi University also uses this information to determine eligibility for institutional need-based grants. Students are also encouraged to apply for state grants.

All students who have applied and been accepted to Adelphi University are automatically considered for scholarships and awards based on their GPA and SAT scores, and official high school transcripts. In general, students who receive a Merit Scholarship do not receive institutional need-based grants. To be considered for need-based grants, students must file the FAFSA.

Adelphi University's Average Financial Aid Package for 2013-14 is $20,200. This includes, federal, state, institutional, and other gift aid, federal loans and federal work study.

The estimate provided by this Net Price Calculator will not represent a final determination, or actual award of, financial assistance and shall not be binding on the Secretary, the institution of higher education, or the State, and may change. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov in order to be eligible for, and receive, an actual financial aid award.

The Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 requires colleges and universities to provide a net price calculator which uses institutional data to provide estimated net price information to prospective students and their families. Based on your individual academic performance and family's financial profile, your actual award can be higher or lower than those presented in this calculator. Your Net Price could be different.

The calculator uses the need and merit based assistance received by our first-time full-time new freshmen for the 2013-2014 academic year. It is intended to estimate net price for an individual full-time student and may not be relevant for special tuition rate programs and is not relevant for graduate students, part-time students, transfer students, or international students.

Net price will be calculated by using Adelphi's 2013-2014 cost of attendance minus the scholarships, awards and grants from federal, state and institutional sources received by first-time, full-time students in 2013-2014. Our calculator excludes assistance from private sources and institutional athletic aid.

Estimated cost of attendance is based on full-time undergraduate tuition and fees (12 -17 credits per semester), double room and average meal plan for resident students, and other expenses.

Simply put, based on your estimated Expected Family Contribution (EFC) you can derive an approximation of the amount of "gift aid" (aid that does not have to be repaid) that a student with your profile could potentially receive. You will receive your official federally-calculated EFC after you submit the FAFSA.

In 2013-2014, 91% of fall 2013 full-time new freshmen received Adelphi aid in the form of university grants and scholarships.

So go ahead and run your information through our Net Price Calculator if you wish to obtain an idea of what you may be expected to pay should you choose to enroll at Adelphi.
